Spiral Wound Gasket

Style R

This spiral wound gasket is a sealing element only – controlled compression must be in the flange. Inner and outer diameters are reinforced with several plies of metal, without filler, to give greater stability and sealing. All other SWG’s (except Style R and HXRIR) have compression built into the gasket.
Typical Application

Suitable for applications including valves, valve bonnet, vessels and pumps in tongue and groove , male and female or grooved to flat face flange assemblies.

CGI-MRG Gasket

A Style CGI gasket developed further with metal reinforced graphite (MRG). The CGI-MRG has a metal core laminated with a conformable sealing material. The solid metal provides strength and rigidity also preventing blow-out. The soft facings give an exceptional seal at relatively low gasket stress.
Typical Application

Face material and core thickness can be tailored to the application, and a wide range of core materials are available.

Spiral Wound Gasket

Baker Gasket

Originally developed for refinery alkalation units, the Baker Gasket features and in-built early warning system for potential hydrofluoric leaks. Any HF acid leaking from the flange travels through an integrated channel in the gasket to the pan-handle which is coated in HF reactive paint – a highly visible indicator for potential leaks.
Typical Application

The Baker Gasket offers the reliability of a spiral wound gasket with PTFE to prevent acid attacking bolts, plus an emissions containment system.

Style HX-RIR

Designed specifically for heat exchangers, the Style HX-RIR gasket is most commonly specified for shell and tube heat exchangers with a TEMA flange.
Typical Application

The gasket features an inner ring which can be manufactured in a variety of materials eg. Thermiculiteฎ dependent on the media.

Spiral Wound Gasket

Style LS

The Style LS provides all the superior sealing properties of a spiral wound gasket in a gasket suitable for lightly loaded and/or compromised applications which require a low-stress seal, including class 150 service.
Typical Application

The gasket allows designers to strictly adhere to ASME B and PV and ASME B31.3 codes requiring that bolt stresses do not exceed 25,000 psi. Where ASME flange design calculations indicate that flanges will be over stressed if a standard Class 150 spiral wound gasket is used, the LS gasket is designed to compress at significantly lower bolt load than standard Class 150 spiral wound gaskets, thereby maintaining flange stresses within allowable limits.

Spiral Wound Gasket

Style RIR

Style R with a solid metal inner ring, designed for flanges without a compression stop. Fills the annular space between flange bore and the inside diameter of the gasket to prevent accumulation of solids, reduce turbulent flow and minimise erosion at flange faces.

Spiral Wound Gasket

Style CG

An external metal ring accurately centres gasket on the flange face, acts as a compression stop and provides additional radial strength to prevent gasket blow-out.
Typical Application

A standard pipeline flange connection gasket suitable for use with flat face and raised face flanges up to and inclusive of class 2500. Above class 600 an internal ring is recommended.

Spiral Wound Gasket

Style CGI

For use above class 600, this gasket is a Style CG gasket with an internal ring for an additional compression limiting stop. For use with flat face and raised face flanges, this gasket features increased compressive force for blow-out prevention.
Typical Application

The Style CGI provides a heat and corrosion barrier, protecting gasket windings and preventing flange erosion.

Style LSI

The Style LSI, as the Style LS, provides all the superior sealing properties of a spiral wound gasket in a gasket suitable for lightly loaded and/or compromised applications which require a low-stress seal, including class 150 service.
Typical Application

The LSI features an additional inner ring for secure sealing and increased blow-out protection with high temperature and chemical resistance, reducing maintenance costs.
